The Royal College of Radiologists will soon close the booking window of the first diet FRCR Part 1 exam in 2026. As per the official information, the booking window, which was opened on 6th October 2025, will close on 9th January 2026.

What is FRCR Part 1?
The first FRCR exam consists of two separate modules, Physics and Anatomy. The exams are held over two consecutive days. Candidates can choose to appear for the one module or both in a single sitting. The exam tests your knowledge of the physical principles that underpin diagnostic medical imaging and of the anatomy needed to perform and interpret radiological studies.

Anatomy

Number of questions: 100 image-associated questions
Exam duration: 90 minutes

- Candidates must hold a primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC
