FRCR Part 2B January 2024 Exam: Booking Window Closes Soon; Points to Keep in Mind

Are you planning on sitting for FRCR 2B Exam in January 2024? The booking window for the upcoming FRCR Part 2B exam closes on December 5, 2023. As per the updates from the Royal College of Radiologists, the exam will be held in January 2024.

The reporting and rapid reporting exam will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, while the Oral exam will be conducted on the week commencing Monday, January 22, 2024. The bookings have already started from the previous May onwards.

FRCR Part 2B Exam

The Final FRCR (Part B) exam analyses candidates on all aspects of their clinical radiology against the Specialty Training Curriculum for Clinical Radiology. The aim of the FRCR (Part B) exam is to ensure that the candidate has attained the required level of training.

The exam includes two components:

FRCR Part 2B (Radiology) – Reporting
FRCR Part 2B (Radiology) – Oral

When candidates log into their RCR account, they will only need to book and pay for the reporting exam. Candidates will be automatically booked onto the oral exam at the same venue.

How Can You Apply for the FRCR Exam?

If you have passed FRCR 2A and completed 34 months of training (or similar), you are eligible to sit for the FRCR 2B Exam.

Make sure you can log in to your website account in advance. If you can’t remember your login details, use the forgotten password or forgotten email links or contact us for support. Do not create another account. For each examination, there will be two priority booking dates:

Priority 1: UK trainees, Singapore, Malta, and Hong Kong trainees, and NHS contributors.
Priority 2: Other global candidates.

Candidates need to complete an online web form to apply. Make sure to keep your documents ready. A copy of your FRCR 2A result and Photo ID (preferably a passport) is required for the exam.

Once the application is completed, an onscreen confirmation message  of the booked place and a link to make payment will be subsequently sent out to you via email. The email will be sent out within 48 hours for Priority 1 candidates and within 24 hours for Priority 2 candidates.
